Memorial Day 2009. We went up to Logan to spend the holiday with my mom and also visit my dad's grave. Drew was so cute playing with his flag. I know I am going to sound so cliche, but babies grow up too fast. I remember the first couple of months couldn't go by fast enough (but a lot of that was due to my PPD), and now I look back and think, "where has this last year gone?" The other night I was cuddling and nursing Drew before bedtime and leaned down to kiss his head and smell him. He smelled like a little boy. When did my little baby stop smelling like a baby and start smelling like a little boy? It's exciting to see him grow up and learn new things, but at the same time it breaks my heart. He will always be my little baby to me. How did I get so lucky to be this little boy's mom? Sometimes I feel so inadequate when I think that I'm in charge of shaping and molding and teaching this little person. What a huge responsibility -- but also, what a rewarding calling.
